NGO ‘Girls’ corporate website for women, donors and partners of the organisation

Web Design & Development

How to transform a feminist organisation with limited and complex online resources into a modern platform that communicates equally effectively with international donors, partners, and women seeking support? We will explain using the example of our collaboration with NGO ‘Divchata’ — a nationwide feminist organisation in Ukraine that supports women and girls.

The task: from chaos to a clear structure for three different audiences

The NGO 'Girls' approached us with a request for a radical overhaul of their existing website. Users found the navigation complex and the content overwhelming. The website also looked outdated and failed to convey the current scale of the organisation's activities.

The key challenge was to create a single platform that would meet the needs of three different user groups:

  1. International donors who needed concise, transparent information in English demonstrating the organisation's ability to implement projects worth $6+ million.
  2. Ukrainian stakeholders (partners, media, ministries, etc.) who were looking for up-to-date, structured data on the NGO's activities, services and geographical coverage.
  3. Beneficiaries (recipients of NGO assistance and services) who needed to quickly and easily find information on the necessary social or legal support, training programmes, etc.

Solution: a strategic approach to content and design

We understood that a ‘cosmetic overhaul’ would not suffice, so our work was based on a complete restructuring of the website's logic.

1. Separation of audiences at the site architecture level

Instead of a typical online platform for everyone, we actually designed two different logical structures within a single site:

  • English version:focused on donors. The main screen immediately presents the scale, key indicators and reports, while navigation leads to projects, financial reporting and impact history. Minimum of unnecessary information, maximum of facts and figures.
  • Ukrainian-language version: focused on stakeholders and beneficiaries. Navigation is clearly divided into sections. This allows each user to quickly find the section they need.
2. Complete redesign and updated user experience

We redesigned the structure, getting rid of outdated sections and combining scattered information.

  • We developed intuitive navigation.
  • We restructured all content, adapting its presentation for each target audience.
  • We created a clean, modern and responsive design that inspires confidence in partners and is friendly and accessible to beneficiaries.
3. Control in the hands of the team thanks to a flexible admin panel

We provided the NGO team with the ability to easily manage multilingual content, independently update information about projects, trainings and reports, and create new pages and sections based on pre-set templates.

The result:a user-friendly website that works for reputation and efficiency

In three months of work, we transformed a rather outdated and limited resource into a powerful communication tool for a leading Ukrainian non-governmental organisation.

New website for the NGO ‘Girls’:
  • Clearly presents the scale of the organisation to international donors, increasing trust and chances of support and funding.
  • Has become an effective tool for working with Ukrainian partners, media, and government agencies.
  • It has simplified the process for beneficiaries – now every woman can quickly and easily find the information she needs about assistance or educational opportunities.
  • It has had a positive impact on the organisation's image, bringing its online presence in line with the NGO's real influence and achievements.

After its launch, the website has already seen its first results:
  • traffic increased by 32% in the two months after release,
  • the number of users returning to the site increased by 17%,
  • and the number of key events increased by 125%.

As a digital agency run by women, we were particularly pleased to collaborate with Ukraine's largest feminist organisation. We are currently continuing our collaboration in a new direction: SEO promotion of the website.
